Louis Leeman's – Time incorporated hand-made Italian shoes for men inspired by the bespoke tailoring tradition of Savile Row and Camden town, a London alternative and industrial neighborhood. Leeman's shoe collection offers a wide variety of styles for the Dandy man, who gives utter importance to his physical appearance, to the Beatnik from Kerouac's 50's and 60's Beat Generation, a time when most men wore suits with their dress shoes, but Kerouac wore his dress ankle boots with jeans, a time which he described as a vision of crazy, illuminated hipsters taking over America in a beautiful and in an ugly graceful new way.
Dutch shoe designer, Louis Leeman and Erica Pelosini met in Erica’s hometown of Florence, Italy, the city of the birth of the Renaissance, during their studies at Polimoda school. Louis found his passion for handcrafted shoemaking while working side by side with Italian masters while Erica, who was working for Vogue Japan as a research stylist found her calling for fashion. Combining their talents and passions they have created a line that caters to fashion conscience men around the world. Erica and Louis have also had the possibility to collaborate with high fashion brands such as Roberto Cavalli and are now working with ‘Maestro’ Cesare Casadei to develop his first men’s collections. The year 2013 was sensational for the creative duo as Footwear News honoured them with the prestigious Vivian Enfantino Emerging Talent Award, and 2014 will be as well a special year as the brand will open its first flagship store in Madison Avenue, New York.
